PROFANITY! I just wanted SOOOO badly to get the beautiful elf hoodies done. I promised on facebook that this new design would be the Deal of the Day for our 12 Days of Christmas Celebration, and then I failed miserably. OH, well, guess what! They're ALMOST done! It only took a 14 hour day and some mediocre chimichangas from Costco to make it happen! I've got to go and get back to work, because we're featuring some fun matching corsets and skirts that will go on a ridiculously good sale WITH the hoodies, so everything should be great...tomorrow.
By the way, if you want to win a $100 ETSY OR ARTFIRE gift certificate, I'm giving away 3....yes THREE.....yes T-H-R-E-E- of them. Wow, that freaky thing just happened where you look at and say a word enough times that it suddenly doesn't sound like a word. Three. three. Three. Odd.
Ahem, if you would like to win a gift certificate, make an intelligible post on our facebook page, under the top-most post from me. OR, you can make a post here on this blog! I will put your names into a bowl and do a drawing....actually my husband will do it, because it makes me panicky and sick to my stomach to think about all of the ladies that will be disappointed, and then I'll start thinking about how I never win anything, and then I'll feel sorry for myself, and then feel sorry for feeling sorry for myself.
We will announce the winner TOMORROW at 9AM MST! I'll put it up on facebook, and the winners will have to email me to claim their gifts!
I'm posting here! =]
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love your work.
YES PLEASE!!! I met you at OryCon (the past two years) and would looooooove one of your corsets!!! Plus I promise to splatter lots of love for you all over Facebook and Google+. :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to go in the draw to win a $100 voucher please! Oh to think of the pretties I could buy... *drool*
ReplyDeleteBreathe, lady. BREATHE. Your customers will love you either way...promise!
ReplyDeleteintelligible post...lol.
ReplyDeletelove you and your fabulosity :-)
ReplyDeleteExisting in a Universe with time is the bane of my existence as well, especially during this part of year. I am blown away by how much you get done on a consistent basis and am sure the elf hoodies will be spectacular. You are always far too hard on yourself. We'll wait. On pins and needles and constantly refreshing the shops in anticipation. . . but we'll wait :)
ReplyDeleteYou work so hard to make us ladies happy! Try to take some time for yourself this holiday season. It seems like you have been going nonstop since the Black Friday sale.
ReplyDeleteYou are a doll :) You make me very happy with your efforts even if I don't win anything... already posted on the FB page so this one is just for support that you are indeed a wonderful person
ReplyDeleteIf you do the drawing, you will feel bad about disappointing people and end up doing something crazy awesome for everyone that makes you no money.. better let him do the drawing.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand how you can do all of this amazing stuff during the holidays! You're a super woman!
ReplyDeleteI adore your work! And your attitude with everything from the Grab Bags to the people who aren't thrilled makes me adore you extra! YAY for your whole team :) And I am just glad to see an artisan like you making it work :)
ReplyDeleteelf hoodie??? OMG, I think I must get one of those! You are so awesome!
ReplyDelete**crosses fingers**
ReplyDeleteI love your work michelle! can't wait to shop your stuff on the queen mary!
ReplyDeletenatalie tuck
There once was lady named Michelle,
ReplyDeleteWho loved giving enjoyment for the Noel,
She sewed and packaged her corset wares,
To lovely lady at the renaissance fairs,
This year Michelle was to be a good little elf,
By offering grand presents to dress oneself,
Her customers loved this damsel dearly,
And hopes she does this gift giving event yearly!
The elf hoods sound fantastic, I can't wait to see them!
ReplyDeleteGosh, I'm going to have to buy so many corsets it's ridiculous in the spring while I'm in the States (woohoo lower postage costs and no customs fees - it's like every day is a Grab Bag sale! :D).
Oh, Michelle, be kind to yourself. Sometimes our inner voices are just so vicious. I have a hard time taming mine. When I catch myself saying things like "Oh my LORD, you are so stupid because whatever whatever whatever," I then say "Would I let anyone talk to my daughters like this? No. So why am I talking to myself like this?"
ReplyDeleteI get the frustration. I won't say "I know how you feel," because I don't: I'm not you. I will say this: this snag is not a failure, miserable or otherwise. You didn't TRY to mess up. Obstacles got in your way. It's as annoying as the hot flames of hell for you, because you're an artist and a solidly ethical businesswoman and you hate to disappoint. But you're no failure.
Fingers crossed! I already get plenty of compliments at Faire on your lovely work and I'd love to get more. :)
ReplyDelete$100 please be mine! :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to win!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are so amazing, Michelle! Like others, I can't believe the things you manage in the midst of the holiday season! Everything you post is such a temptation - I'm sure the elf hoodies will be absolutely irresistable!
ReplyDeleteThanks again and much love!
Oh please oh please you're wonderful and amazing! I can't wait to send you my thank you card for my grab bag. :) I would love a gift card from you!
ReplyDeleteI love your work, never had the time or the means to purchase your corsets, but I do appreciate quality when I see it.
ReplyDeleteMelinda
intelligible post...lol. I love you and your work. I enjoyed very much the time I got to spend with you talking about your corsets in the morning before cannon at OKRF 2012 at the castle of Muskogee. I would be ecstatic if I won because I have a long list of things to buy before the next fair run and it would be an honor to win! you are amazing!!!! I tell every women I know that if they want an corset that they need one from you!!!!
ReplyDeleteyou rock my socks off!!!!
lots of love
Monique
you are very talented! :-)
ReplyDeleteSo, I'm very excited to see your newest creations. Are you going to WorldCON in San Antonio this year? If so, I will be stopping by to try on all the new things and play dress up with my friends, because Reno was just so much fun. *crosses fingers*
ReplyDeleteI'm posting here! I love your stuff & borrow my friend's corsets, but I have yet to be able to afford my own!
ReplyDeleteYou are an absolute marvel and there is no way I could do what I do without you. Love and light to you and your family! - Jessica Hebert
ReplyDeleteI have only tried your wench styles corests, but I love that I feel able to breathe and move comfortably, and that they are modern and don't make me look 'goth' or 'steampunk' (which is fine, but isn't my everyday life). I might even wear one to my company christmas party tonight!
ReplyDeleteI'm posting here and am intelligible, I think. I'm so burnt on custom jewelry orders that sometimes I wonder. We love you!
ReplyDeleteThis made me laugh entirely too much. You make me happy panda :)
ReplyDeleteI love your work! It is my dream to own one of your corsets, though I am always afraid that I am measuring wrong. I have always loved corsets, and I finally put on weight so the two I did own no longer fit. A gift card would be awesome, but I never win anything either!!!
ReplyDeleteAgain, I love your work!
I have coveted your corsets for a very long time. I have yet to own one for myself, but have been allowed to borrow and wear a corset. I fell in love instantly. I hope to win this particular contest, that would be super great. I love your stuff so very, very much.
ReplyDeleteOo! Oo! Oo! Pick me! Pick me! Hehe. I am very, very excited to see your elf vests. They sound very gorgeous. :)
ReplyDeleteI am very happy that you are receiving such positive remarks, because you are amazing and deserve it.
ReplyDeleteYour corsets make me feel like the svelt chick that's trapped under my mommy of two body!
ReplyDelete3...THREE...T-H-R-E-E.
ReplyDeleteThree. three. Three.
Like the 3 bears with goldilocks.
Like the THREE little pigs.
Like the T-H-R-E-E Billy Goats Gruff.
Like the Three wives of Henry VIII (minus three).
Like the Three Graces.
I'm not sure if this count as an intelligible post...but I REALLY hope it does! :)
Oh my goodness! Yes, totally want! I love your work and I haven't been able to order a new corset yet this year!
ReplyDeleteI love your work. I am especially fond of your cropped jackets with tails. I'll be saving up for one sometime in the new year. I also think you have amazing customer service and can't believe how much of your heart and soul obviously goes into your work. You are amazing.
ReplyDeleteThree, three, three..
ReplyDeleteHaha, you're right!
And don't worry about it; you're a winner in all of our eyes, and you'll definitely make three peoples' days with your generosity!
I completely know how you feel <3 But the silver lining is that those hoodies are almost done and you will feel fabulous when they are revealed to the world!! <3
ReplyDeleteWould love to win of course and thank you for the opportunity! Name's Maria L. in case it doesn't show up when I post <3
Something Positive this Way Comes!
ReplyDeleteTwas the week before Christmas and all through the shop, many creatures were clicking with no intention to stop.
The curtains were opened in the window with care, in hopes that their Damsel in this Dress would soon be there.
The men in their beds wishing their women to bed, but sales on the website keep them up instead!
Michelle and her Elves posting this one and that one, a thousand mouse clicks per minute we hope to beat out the system.
Quickly corsets are purchased our eyes wide with desire, an online war rages as Etsy misfires.
Oh Duchess! Oh Wench! Oh Cropped Courtier!
Oh Peacock! Oh Crossfire! Oh Empire Corsair!
Log in, click purchase, that’s the one, it’s right there!
Now ladies calm down, says Michelle with great patience, checking Facebook and blog spot to quell any grievance.
I’ve packed your Damsels with care, boxes stuffed to the brim, soon you will look lovely, supported, voluptuous and slim!
She logged off the computer and to her team gave a whistle, to the post office we go quick as a tassel!
But we heard the seamstress exclaim while they drove out of sight, Happy Holidays to those who measured for they’ll fit you all right!
An original Damsel Poem by Tierany Seriflame <3
Aww you work so hard lol. Everyone deserves a chocolate braek now and again! :)
ReplyDeleteI think everyone here understands how busy the holidays are! Don't worry! Looking forward to seeing the new design. (And I would love to win a gift card! ^^)
ReplyDeleteNo one cares if you're a day late! You're doing something awesome for us, so don't worry about it.
ReplyDelete-Breana Muckenthaler
Everyone is entitled to the occasional breakdown. Take a breath, eat some chocolate, have a drink... whatever gets you to chill. It'll be okay, dear lady!
ReplyDeleteI sympathize with your exhaustion. I am currently going through finals week as a college student, little sleep and lots to do. I'm trying to keep myself on track with studying but I need a break every once in a while, so I check back here. :P One more final to go for me tomorrow. Hope the vests don't give you too much more trouble so at least one of us can get a good night's sleep. :)
ReplyDeleteYou rock, lady - everyone understands when you need a little more time to do the crazy awesome stuff you do! Can the reward on one of the twelve days be for YOU, so you can get some sleep and eat chocolate and bask in our adoration?
ReplyDeleteWould love to win this!!! LOVE your stuff!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs to you!!
My wife is crazy for your outfits and they look fabulous on her, but I am jealous! You should introduce some men's corsets. More particularly, something that will go well with a kilt ;)
ReplyDeleteI love the drawings on your blog!!!!
ReplyDeleteI think your dedication to your art is awesome. So glad you had some chocolate to get you through the day. Good luck everyone! Can't wait to see the new designs!! -Shannan Haas
ReplyDeleteI cannot compose a poem to laud your wares, but I can say this: I desperately wish I could afford the wonderful, wonderful things you make! I spend my days bemoaning my extra hundred and forty pounds and trolling your etsy, hoping that something awesome will magically fit my 3X shape AND be something I can afford...If I were to win a gift certificate, I could possibly, finally, be able to have something nice to wear out to the club, or as I try to get my businesses off the ground. I am jealous of your ability to be your own boss (the fabric doesn't count as a boss, I promise!) and of every customer you have's ability to own your clever costume pieces! Pick me! Pick me! Please pretty please with a cherry on top, pick me!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the new hoodies...I hope to add 1 to my collection of your corsets! Hope to see you at NorCal Pirate Fest again next year (hopefully not as bloody hot as this years!). Your a Costuming GODDESS!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw that you were giving away a gift certificate, I think I almost lost my jaw from dropping it so hard. You are wonderfully amazing, and your generosity never ceases to amaze me. I can't wait to see who wins :) Good luck to everyone who is entered!
ReplyDeleteMediocre Costco chimichangas?! You must feed yourself better than that! If I wasn't states away I'd deliver you something delicious and homemade. TAKE CARE OF YOU!!
ReplyDeleteI would soooooo love to win one of your gift certf. I have loved your wonderful clothes ever since i saw them for the first time 2 years ago.
ReplyDeleteEven though I don't have one of your pieces as yet, I love your work. I know several people who have your beautiful corsests and love them and I know that I will too
ReplyDeleteYou are an amazing human being. You work so hard and make gorgeous, fabulous things that make us feel gorgeous and fabulous. And survive actors! More than once!
ReplyDeleteI have seen ur work and omg beautiful my coworker has 2 I want one :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for doing what you do. Seeing someone truly care how every woman feels in her own body is special.
ReplyDeleteI love your corsets and have worn them at everything from Burning Man to the Folsom Street Fair to burlesque shows and always get lots of compliments. You've inspired me to start trying to sew my own!
