Amber, I hope it's okay that I borrowed this off of your facebook. I just wanted to my blog readers a quick look at 2 things: 1.Look at my awesome corset. It's all florally and pretty, but then it has bullet casings sewn around the whole entire bottom, front and back. There's nothing like a drunk sweaty guy at a ren fest reaching for your bum, touching it, and then mumbling, "your cartridge was coming out. " Heck yes for THAT pickup line. 2.It's really good to note that I customize my corsets for me. I have spent 5 years beating my waist into submission (not in the creepy 'waist training'/ reshape your inner organs/wear corsets for 23 hours a day kind of crap, but just wearing well built waist whittlers!) and I'm squishy enough through the waist that I can do a pretty dang good optical illusion. Now, if ONLY I looked anything like this in real life (Oh! Side note-check out the song by KT Tunstall "If Only" It's such a brilliant song and I often rock out to it whilst slaving over a hot sewing machine.) Anyway, back to my corsets for me-I had no less than 3 humans of the male persuasion ask me if my waist was 16 inches. MAN ALIVE! If you guys have a measuring tape kicking around, go ahead and see what 16 inches looks like. It ain't pretty. I just adored the fact that such a question was posed to me! It's sort of like how I have people ask me AT LEAST 25 times a day if I'm going to "put my knee in their back and pull" while I'm lacing their corsets....FRONT lacing corsets.....if you have a vivid enough imagination, go ahead and picture me lacing up a muggle up the front, while pushing my knee into their back....awkward.
Okay, back to the mind-numbing inventory sewing. By the way, I literally cannot apologize enough for how sloppy the month of May has been for my company. I've done so many stupid things with custom orders that I'm pretty sure I have several lifelong enemies. Working on the weekends, and then furiously sewing every day all day in between has not been conducive to good customer service, quickly filled orders, or happy customers. We ARE going to launch a STUNNINGLY amazing website, complete with a shopping cart, new fabrics, new bodices, and new...newness this summer. You guys will love it. I have sooooo many great things planned.
being squishy in the middle definitely makes corsets look better!
ReplyDeleteYou do look pretty awesome in that. If I were a guy, I'd be tempted to hit on you, too. ;)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the new website - a corset from you is on my list of fitness incentives! :)
Oooh, I love new newness. ;)

ReplyDeleteWe all get busy and get caught up in things.. which usually results in making a mistake or two. No big deal!! But as one of the people whose custom order was unsuccessful, I can definitely say.. no life long enemy here!!! I'm still as excited as ever about getting something at your shop on Sunday!!!! No worries!!
