Day 4 of the 12 Days of Christmas Celebration-Bloomettes Galore!

So, this is a pair of our bloomettes shown with the "add a huge dang ruffle belt" that I thought up...this morning at 4 am. I pulled my husband out of bed, even though he complained about how much his back hurt (apparently, he had been bent over for 3 hours straight playing legos with our kids...such a tribulation!) and I had to help him straighten his spine, but then put him right to work cutting out the extra ruffles for these.
I rudely put this in the descriptions for the bloomettes, but I'll say it again-DO NOT WEAR THESE IN REAL LIFE WITH A T-SHIRT. There's this marvelous thing called proportion, and if you do it right, you can literally make your body look completely and utterly different than it does normally. When you are wearing a corset, for instance, it already whittles your waist, and then when you add a bunch of volume on the bottom (think bustle skirts...huge fluffy bridal gowns...tutus.) you create this illusion of an even smaller waist, because you're working with ratios.   However, if you throw on a pair of puffy shorts with a loose t-shirt, you will look bigger, because you didn't create all of these interesting shapes and lines. Feel free to wear them however you want, but I won't be held responsible if you're NOT in one of our corsets! :)

On a side note, I have a skirt that is completely like a creamy, marshmallow-y, puffy, frosting-y billowy blob around my thighs. It's tons of fabric just bustled, folded, pillowed, and protruded away from me. When I wear this skirt with my corsets at festivals, I get people going crazy, and lots of people seem to want it, but I KNOW if it were hanging there on a rack, it would seem daunting, and I would have my otherwise intelligent customers asking me if they would be able to wear it because they have enough "junk in their trunk". Ahem. This is where I burst a blood vessel and go into horrible customer service mode, and then people tell tales all through the renaissance festivals about that CREE-AZEEE B-word at Damsel in this Dress.  It's just that I NEED people to understand that when you're wearing a bustle skirt, a  huge hoop skirt, a tutu, puffy pants, ANYTHING that is more voluminous, others will see the shape and the loveliness of the fabric and construction. They will literally NOT be able to see your body. It's the best camouflage I've ever seen. As you can tell, I've channeled a lot of passion into this particular subject, but think about it...I shape bodies
and create illusions for a living.
Anyhow, today these beauties are on sale for $15 off, and they will remain at that marvelous price until the end of the day tomorrow (Dec. 18th).  Thanks to all of you for supporting the December promotions! I LOVE coming out with new things for my customers and being able to offer them at ridiculously low prices!

  11. I make bloomers in South Africa and am having a hard time convincing people to buy them. I just love your really baggy ones. Is there a pattern that I could buy - if only for myself. I only started sewing 5 years ago (can't get a job due to our economy and my age) and would dearly love to wear a pair of these. They look absolutely fabulous!
