A few notes for festival goers!

Hey guys! I just have a few quick notes! So, we are going to be at the Portland Pirate Festival Sep. 19th and 20th ( www.portlandpiratefestival.com ) the Age of Chivalry Renaissance Festival in Las Vegas Oct. 9-11 ( www.lvrenfair.com ) the Folsom Renaissance Festival in Folsom, CA Oct. 17-18th (www.folsomfaire.com ) and FINALLY, the DAAC Renaissance Arts Faire in Las Cruces, NM November 7-8th ( www.daarts.org ) That last one is a new one that we just got accepted into. Holla, New Mexico!!!

Anyway, the main thing that I'm trying to say is that our company has been so overwhelmed with custom orders (thank you, thank you) that we honestly just don't have huge inventories for these shows. I was planning on 400 corsets, and it's going to be closer to 200, if we're lucky....which sounds like a lot, but then you have to consider that we have 7 main styles that we carry at the festival, 8 different sizes, and about 40 different fabric options....and you spread all those apart between 200 and it's not that impressive of a selection.
We love our custom orders, but they do take a considerable amount of excess time because we're just cutting and sewing one thing at a time, rather than doing massive piles of assembly line style work. They have just really limited our inventory for the shows this year. If you are coming and expecting to have a broad range of things to try on...I think you're out of luck. However, if there's something...or even a few things in particular that REALLY want to see, you HAVE to tell me. Email me at seamstress@damseldress.com and let me know what corsets you want and what your size is, and I will try to sew my inventory accordingly. I'm doing my very best to make sure that we have amazing things for you guys, which is why I'm still working at 9:15, having started work at 5:00 this morning. I'm dedicated, and we need to keep making money so we can put a down payment on a house.....so, uh....work=good.

  1. OMG! I'm so excited that you guys are coming to Age of Chivalry! I saw your stuff last year and couldn't afford to buy it but I'm saving up and I was just PRAYING you would come back. Good to know I can finally get one of those delicious bodices! Now all I have to do is decide whether I want the Courtier or the Wench! I'm hoping for something in blue/black in "bigger girl" (size 16-18) sizes. If you have something, let me know, maybe you could hold it for me? Email me at tehrabbit@gmail.com

  2. I really wish you did Renaissance Fairs on the East coast. At the Fair I went to yesterday in Tuxedo, NY I saw some corset's and inspected them and I noticed how cheaply made they were and how expensive they were for such crappy quality. your corsets are of much better quality, fabric, and overall design. I am so glad I bought a corset from you to wear to the fair. I will definitely be buying again.

  3. Like Kate said: I really wish you came out this way (I'm in MD). Though I think I spotted one of your corsets this past weekend (and I do kind of enjoy getting a million complimentson mine, especially since it's "different" from the others ones typically seen at MDRF). :)

  4. I attend the MDRF several times every year wearing your corsets and thus far, I've had at least three people each time comment "is that a DamselinthisDress? It's AWESOME!" I spotted three of your corsets at the Spoutwood Farm Fairie Festival this year, too. The east coast is screamin' for ya, Michelle! I refuse to wear anything but your work and since everything I buy is a tax write-off for my business (show garb) I can justify buying almost anything from you :-)

Keep up the great work! I look forward to Faire season every year, now!

  5. I'm in upstate New York & would LOVE you to have a shop at my home Faire (The Sterling Renaissance Festival) ! I'm tired of seeing all the too short bodices with plastic boning that make everyone look 10 - 15 lbs. heavier - yuck. I too get many compliments on my now several bodices/corsets and I tell them where I got them. I can now spot one of your designs a mile away too lol ! I yelled out at one girl who also had on one of your corsets "Damsal in This Dress !" & she yelled back "YES !!!" !

  7. Black, black, black please. I am looking for a black bodice and I am excited to look at yours on Friday at Las Vegas Ren Fair. I think I will be around a 10/12, I normally wear size large.
